Kindred is an evolution of ensemble, the work I made in South Africa in 2019 referencing Alice in Wonderland and exploring traditional plants used to treat brain cancer, re-envisioned using plants and compounds that aid in the treatment of Lyme’s Disease (Black Walnut, Aspens, Cats Claw, Hairy Rice Rose, Knot Weed, Sage wort, Skullcap – and I will continue to research). The wall has cut vinyl molecular drawings of the chemical compounds.
Rabbits globally symbolize fertility, luck, creativity, while also referencing compassion, intuition, new beginnings, potential, hope, spiritual awakening, prosperity and abundance. While the rabbits may be mischievous, they are also lucky.
The Ravens are foreboding with associations with death, and decay. However, the raven is also resilient, creative, smart, and fearless. The raven has also been credited with creating the world.
